AMG Physical Rehabilitation Hospital – Lafayette is seeking a Full-Time Dietary Cook to perform assigned duties under the direct supervision of the Dietary Manager in a Hospital setting. This position may possibly become Full Time in the future.  Prepares patient and guest trays in compliance with dietary specifications prudent to all diets. Cleans and sanitizes utensils, equipment, and station after each mealtime and as required.  Assist with tray line service for patients, employees, and guests.  Assures patients receive proper diets as ordered.  Communicates with the Dietary Manager and the Registered Dietician on a regular basis to ensure trays are delivered at appropriate times with the appropriate diets.

Assesses dietary needs and plans therapeutic diets for inpatients based on patient’s current health concerns. Analyses effects of interventions. Collaborates with Physician, Nursing and therapists to improve patient outcomes. Oversees and implements preparation and service of meals for patients. in the hospital. Responsible for oversight of dietary staff and their performance as well as ensuring the dietary department is in compliance with company guidelines; state, federal and other governing bodies laws and regulations.  Assures patients are consistently served diets as ordered following guidelines for meal times and meal temperatures.

The LPN provides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Maintain regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.  Communicate with physicians and team members about changes in patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.  Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

While on duty is authorized and designated by the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to assume overall responsibility for clinical nursing practice. Provides for continuity in decision making and consistency in nursing practice by assuring that nursing and hospital standards and objectives are met. Acts as a resource and support person for the nursing staff.  Represents administration during any event occurring their absence.  Embraces and demands a culture of professionalism and accountability. Responsible for fostering a positive milieu. Keeps CCO and CEO apprised of situations that may place facility at risk. Provides direct patient care as required based on staffing and patient acuity. Communicates with physicians/CCO/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition.  Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
